TEAM LEADER: PP Abdulmajid Mohamed Aboo, member of the Rotary Club of Kilindini,Mombasa, Kenya

Abdulmajid Aboo (Majid) was born on 13th October 1958 in Mombasa Kenya. He is a past president of Rotary Club of Kilindini having been a member since 1989.  Rtn. Majid has held many district positions and is currently the District Secretary of D9200.

Rtn. Majid is the Managing Director of Aboo Insurance Brokers Ltd., having started it in 1986 and also is the Administration Director of Aboo Group of Companies. 

He graduated from University of North Texas where he majored in Industrial Chemistry.  He is widely traveled and enjoys reading and is a tertiary Education Counselor.  He is also very active in Community.  He is married to Aisha and they both have two daughters and a Son (8 years old).

Rtn. Majid is interested in visits relating to tertiary education and management.  He does not eat pork or take any alcohol.

 

 
Richard Stephen Katongole - sponsored by R C of Kampala, North, Uganda

Stephen was born in a family of 8 children on 21st April 1967.  He grew up in the suburbs of Kampala, Uganda.

He completed his diploma in Education from the Institute of Teachers Education and pursued further to obtain a Bachalor’s degree of Arts from Makerere University.  Stephen is not satisfied and is currently studying, during evenings, towards a degree of Master of Education.

He has been teaching French at a local School where he seconds as a deputy head teacher and as an Interact Club Patron.  Stephen is married to Harriet, a head teacher, and they are blessed with two children.  Stephen enjoys listening to Music and is a good conversationist.

He wants to learn about the US system of education including school administration and Interact Clubs.  He is allergic to red meat and milk, but does take milk products.

Elizabeth Wamuhu Kiarie - sponsored by R C of Nairobi East, Kenya

Elizabeth works as a coordinator with a children’s rescue center.

After high school she joined a hands on training program for counseling of children.

Elizabeth is keen on tying with child welfare societies.

Joyce works for the Government of Tanzania.  She is in the Ministry of Finance holding the position of Planning Officer.  She is in charge of mobilization of External resources and maintain data on bilateral trade.

Joyce holds a masters degree in International Development Studies.  She has an advanced diploma in Economic Planning and Development Economics.

She was born on 11th May 1964 and is married to Avelin.  They are parents to Madeleine,  who is four years six months old.

Joyce is interested in visiting Government Agencies relating to economic development and finance.

 

  
Samson Tesfaye -
Rotaract Club of Mella in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Samson is a Rotaractor from the Rotaract Club of Mella in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and has been involved in numerous community service activities including Polio plus.

Samson works as an Insurance Agent in Addis Ababa having done a diploma in purchasing & Supplies Management.  He has also completed courses in Insurance.  He has previously worked as a Public Relations person for an Art Gallery and UNDP.

Public Relations and Promotional Activities will interest him.  Also visits with other Rotaract Clubs will be an added advantage.

 

 ALTERNATE TEAM LEADER: PP Daniel Kinyanjui Gikonyo - sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bahari, Mombasa. Kenya

Daniel Gikonyo is a charter member of the Rotary Club Of Bahari-Mombasa. He has held the position of President of the club and has also held district positions including that of Assistant Governor. He is also on the District Governor’s team of training in the District.

He is the Managing Director of Datapoint Ltd, a company dealing in Computer Consulting.

Daniel was born in Kiambu near Nairobi on 16th July, 1953. He is married to Antoinette and they have four children.
