![]() Joachim (Jochen) Heintz: Prof. Eng. (Civil) - Team Leader Born in 1938 in Stettin, Germany, Jochen is married since 35 years with Annette. They have 3 children, two daughters and one son, all living in Germany. He is serving Rotary International since 1996 and became legal member of the knight-hood of the Order of Saint John in 1980. Today Jochen is president of the consulting engineering firm “Beton Plant International Ltd.”, concerned with civil engineering construction works. During his 40 years professional career, he was employed by an international German construction company for 30 years. He became vice president in charge of north American subsidiaries in Vancouver B.C., Toronto, ON, and New York, N.Y. for eight years and retained Canadian citizenship since. Jochen and his family is now residing in Munich, Aachen and Frankfurt, Germany, and is enjoying a farm on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. |
![]() Hella Leonie Schneider: Educanionalist Born in 1977 in Bayreuth, Northern Bavaria, Germany, Hella moved to Augsburg in 1996 to study pedagogy. She concentrated on extra-scholar youth education and adult education and related topics as Lifelong learning and intercultural learning. After some work experience in Augsburg and abroad (France, Belgium) Hella graduated from University in 2002 and started a traineeship at the department of “Higher education” at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France. Since January 2003 Hella is working at the “Volkshochschule des Landkreises Freyung-Grafenau” in Grafenau, a small town in the Bavarian Forest. As head of department for languages and health education, she organizes evening-classes and German classes for immigrants. In cooperation with the Rotary Club of Freyung-Grafenau, she led a project to support children from migrant families with extra German afternoon-classes. Moreover she leads and organizes projects, financially supported by the European Union, to provide trainings to firms, (vocational) trainings to unemployed persons and further qualification to employees especially in the field of tourism. In her spare-time Hella loves swimming, to attend classes at the local fitness-center, but prefers outdoor-activities e.g. to go for extended walks in the forest. In winter she spends almost any free day on her skis. Hella likes reading and travelling and loves to meet people. |
![]() Gunnar Graefe: Survey Engineer Gunnar Graefe is working as head of technology development for a mobile mapping enterprise in Munich that deals with road and railway mapping projects. His main research field are mobile survey systems gathering data while traveling at highway speed. This includes positioning and navigation with multisensor systems, e.g. GPS, laser scanning and camera technology. The scientific activities have led to a number of publications. Gunnar was raised in a small town near Hamburg in northern Germany. After school he joined the German army for 12 years and went off duty as a captain. During his term Gunnar received his M.Sc. in geodesy at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and worked as a scientific assistant at the institute of mathematics. Gunnar has been president of the Rotaract Club of Starnberg, near Munich, and enjoyed taking part in a number of challenging club activities. He is very happy living in Munich, Bavaria, for more than a decade. He regards Munich as a beautiful town rich on cultural heritage and open to international visitors. Leisure time is filled with biking or hiking, reading and ballroom dancing. Gunnar is very much looking forward to the visit of Washington State. |

![]() Dr. Stephan Kolmann: Lawyer Stephan was born and raised in Münster in Westphalia. In 1983, he moved to Regensburg in Bavaria. From 1992 to 1997, he studied law at the Universities of Regensburg, Münster and Munich and finished his academic education with a doctoral thesis regarding International Insolvency Law. Since 2000, Stephan works as a lawyer specialized in insolvency administration, bankrupt and corporate law. Stephan is married since August 1997. He lives with his wife near Munich. In his spare time Stephan enjoys playing violin (both chamber music as well as light music), hiking and golf. Professionally, his interests especially refer to reorganisation of a company and management consultancy. |
